Looking into the future of financial services

Deloitte Luxembourg organized the 6th edition of its annual Horizon Conference in the Philharmonie in Luxembourg on 14 June 2016. Around 300 professionals from the financial industry had their world view challenged by international keynote speakers who painted a picture of a future in which financial services would look very different than they do today. Innovation, FinTech, Blockchain and business creativity filled the agenda, and as an additional bonus, government officials shared their view on the changing business environment and the challenges ahead. Pierre Gramegna, Luxembourg Minister of Finance, delivered the opening speech for the third consecutive year and Hugues Delcourt, CEO, Banque Internationale à Luxembourg, kindly accepted to act as the chariman of the day. The list of speakers included:

  • Gavin Bullock - Partner, Investment Management Tax team, Deloitte UK
  • Nicolas Cary - Co-founder, Blockchain – CEO, Blockchain.info
  • Pierre Castagne – Managing Director, Luxoft
  • Benjamin Collette – Partner and Financial Services Leader, Deloitte Luxembourg
  • Fredrik Haren – Author and professional speaker
  • Nicolas Mackel - CEO, Luxembourg For Finance
  • Claude Marx - Directeur Général, Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier
